Morrison Hershfield is seeking an experienced Water and Sanitation Engineer for an upcoming multi-year water and sanitation project inMozambique. This person will be responsible for providing technical advice and capacity building services to support the planning and/or construction of water and sanitation facilities in rural and small town settings. This includes work related to technical design and construction supervision of small piped water supply systems, boreholes, wells, small solar systems, rainwater harvesting and sanitation facilities. The Water and Sanitation Engineer will be working with a team of Canadian and Mozambican Specialists. This is a full-time, field-based assignment.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering;
7-10 years’ experience in the field of water and sanitation engineering;
Experience playing a similar role in at least one long-term, field-based assignment in a developing country, preferably in Africa;
Willingness to relocate to Mozambique for a minimum of 2 years;
Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status; and
Working knowledge of Portuguese and English.
Assets:
Master’s degree in engineering or other relevant degree;
Relevant experience in Africa;
Experience working on CIDA projects overseas;
Team management skills.
